According to a report by security firm Scam Sniffer, these scams involve spreading advanced malware through counterfeit verification bots on Telegram, diverging from the typical 'connect wallet' phishing tactics. The firm highlighted that malicious Telegram group scams have seen a significant rise, while traditional phishing attempts have remained stable. This shift indicates a new and more sophisticated approach by scammers to exploit cryptocurrency users.
